How to make 2,800 miles of driving fun

For the last 4 days, I have been slowly making my way out to Reno, NV for my summer internship at the Reno Gazette-Journal.

I started out my drive in Northfield, MN after spending some time with Chelsea in her hometown and cruising on the St. Croix National Scenic River.  I survived the drive through Iowa and Nebraska and spend the night in Denver.  After Denver, the drive has been much easier because of the amazing scenery around me.

So, how do you make the drive interesting?  I say go off-roading!  After camping on the rim of a canyon overlooking the Colorado River, I drove to Canyonlands National Park near Moab, UT and spent the day exploring the off-road trails.  Since I am traveling alone, my car is my only friend.  So, I took pictures of it (I maybe be going crazy after all this driving).  Here is a little sample of what my car and I have been driving through today:
