Nighttime Photo Fun

I was bored the last couple of nights and decided to entertain myself by running around the countryside taking night photos. There has been a pretty full moon lately which provided some nice fill light.

The photos were lit with a big MagLite as well as an LED headlamp that I normally use for camping. It was a fun little experiment on a boring night.

The above photo looks like I took it at sunrise but in reality, that orange glow is the light pollution coming from the city of Columbia.

Get to Know John

John Schreiber is a freelance photojournalist based in Redondo Beach, California. John specializes in news, sports, feature, and documentary photography. John holds a Master's degree in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri and has previously worked for newspapers including The Reno Gazette-Journal, The Columbia Missourian, and People Newspapers (Dallas, TX). John has also worked as a coordinator for the Pictures of the Year International competition. His photography has been recognized by College Photographer of the Year, the National Press Photographers Association, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and SportsShooter.com. When not photographing, John is hopefully wandering the world looking for his next adventure or running around somewhere in the great outdoors.
